Our staff and

trustees

ADVANCE has a dedicated team of professional staff and trustees to make our charity function in the best possible way in order to help you. They have a vast range of experience and qualifications in order to bring the best possible service to its users.

ADVANCE staff

The ADVANCE team is divided into four projects; ADVANCE Hammersmith, ADVANCE Brent
and ADVANCE Minerva and ADVANCE Westminster, Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.

The teams consist of:
1 Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
2 Administrators
1 Business Support Officer
4 Project Managers
1 Health IDVA
1 Domestic Violence Housing Worker
1 Data Analyst (part time)
17 IDVA's
4 Key workers
1 MARAC Co-ordinator (part time)

We also work in partnership with other agencies to deliver services and have other professionals co located within some of our teams. This includes 2 Offender Managers employed by London Probation based at the Minerva Project. There is also a Domestic Violence Court Liaison worker employed by Woman’s Trust and located with the Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea team.

The staff team is made up from women who come from a variety of backgrounds and have varied experiences both personally and professionally. In recruiting staff for ADVANCE we have tried to seek staff with skills connected to a good value base for example the ability to be non judgmental, have empathy, be good listeners and a passion for women’s rights to be safe and free from violence.

The staff teams have previous experiences working in the social care and other sectors. For example, within the team we have women who have worked in the criminal justice system, housing, legal services, health services, women’s centres as well as other domestic violence services.

Our trustees

We are also supported and governed by a Board of Trustees. ADVANCE is a registered charity and as such requires a Board. The Role and responsibilities of the trustees include having
overall responsibility for controlling the management and administration of ADVANCE. They help to plan the strategic future of ADVANCE and get involved in policy decisions. There are three roles within the Trustee team that have specific responsibilities: the Chair, the Treasurer and the Secretary.

As well as being a registered charity, ADVANCE is also a company registered, as Limited by Guarantee with Company House. Trustees are directors of the company as well as trustees of the charity.

The Director has responsibility for maintaining a clear division of responsibilities between the Board and the staff team. She provides an effective link between Board and staff and implements the strategic decisions of the Board.

The Trustee role is voluntary - if you are interested in becoming a Trustee please contact the Chief Executive Officer.
